15th September

Pictures of an amp with serial plate 370 (not original to the chassis) added on the 100W amplifier page. The serial number was probably in the low 500s, and the amp fixed bias (later converted to cathode).

Pics of a beautiful PA 50 added on the Public Address amps page.

New pictures of an amp with a serial number probably in the 1800s added on one of the later AC100 Mk2s pages.

Pics of a MK 3 Vox Sound Equipment Ltd (VSEL) mixer added on the PA100s page.

Note to the effect that stamped codes (66775 and 66776) on the undersides of the black-shrouded transformers seem to appear for the first time in amps with serial numbers in the 502 - 531 range - see the 100W amplifier page. The stamped code numbers are almost always found on one or other transformer thereafter.

A page on silver Celestion T1088 alnico speakers is in preparation.

Following a little reformatting, it should now be possible to print out most of the pages on A4 or US letter sized paper without the images floating over the text. There may be some blank pages (ie. spaces) here and there, but otherwise it should be ok. Let me know if any difficulties arise.

17th August

The YouTube videos on the Stones with thin-edged AC80/100 page have been replaced (the previous ones had been made "private" by their owner).

13th July

The amp mentioned below as serial number 730 is actually 1072 - pictures available here. Thanks to Tom. But the point remains - that the introduction of the red warning plaque corresponds pretty well with the introduction of the Mk2 circuit (the circuit with the brimistor). However, note that serial number 732, which evidently once had a brimistor, has a white plaque.

9th July

Details of serial no. 1979 added on the second of the later Mk 2s page. Thanks to Lars for the pictures.

7th July

See entry for 13th July Serial no. 730 is now known to have a red warning plaque. Pictures to follow. The red warning plaque evidently marks amps with the new Mk 2 circuit (ie. the change to the circuit incorporating the brimistor. See the early Mk 2 page for further examples.

Pictures of serial no. 1979 also to follow.

Older entries

26th June

Further pictures of an amp possibly with a serial number in the low 200s added on the thin-edged box page. The date code of the volume pot of the amp is January 1964. Westrex, the contractor that built the copper panelled AC80/100s, evidently had quantities of these pots and used them througout 1964.
