Shirley Douglas, Easy Guide to Rhythm and Blues for Bass Guitar
Second edition - 1963
The second edition of Shirley Douglas' "Easy Guide" made no changes to the text and examples presented in the first, but did introduce new pictures of bands, the most striking perhaps being of Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers with one of their Vox Transonics. Douglas and Chas McDevitt, her musical partner, were long-time Vox users, appearing in a number of catalogues and flyers, some of which can be found on this page. Pictures of the first edition, issued in 1960, are here.
A further (third) edition followed in 1970, text lightly revised, contemporary pictures replacing previous ones and pushing out Vox.
