Marv's first major event for Vox in the USA, was the "Battle of the Bands", mid March to 16th April, San Mateo Fairgrounds and the Hollywood Palladium in LA. See . Competitions, demonstrations, band battles, and promotional events staged by dealers followed thick and fast.
