Vox AC100 no. 241

So far as is known the amp has always been in the UK. In terms of its more recent history, it was bought in Reading/Maidenhead in 1989, and in 1990 turned into a species of AC50 - the power section redone, and two of the EL34 sockets removed. Smaller changes were made to the preamp. The box was given Rose Morris grille cloth.

The pictures below are mostly "before" and "after" restoration, though one or two show the state of things "in progress".

Date codes of the original components are:

Woden choke: "JV" = September 1964.

Woden mains transformer: "KV" = October 1964.

TCC capacitors: "VF", "VG" and VJ = June, July and August 1964.

One of the pots has the code: "JL" = September 1964.

Radiospares 32uf capacitor: "VK" = October 1964.

Daly filter capacitor: "VK" = October 1964.

The knob, pull pot and miniature toggle switch added in 1990.

Pictures taken towards the end of the restoration. Still some work to do in the power section.

The only thing the box required was new 1960s grille cloth.
