Vox AC80/100 no. 178

Produced by Westrex for Jennings in the autumn of 1964. The amp was in Japan during the 1990s and 2000s, its mains and output transformers probably having been replaced before it got there - most likely in the UK in the late 1970s.

The 32uf 450v Radiospares capacitor in the preamp has the code C7631, which is likely to signify the 31st week of 1976. The 16uf cap has the code 7204 = 4th week of 1972. During the repair the plate resistors were removed and not replaced - they have since been reinstated. Also reinstated a Cannon LNE-32 mains socket on the back panel (the original screw holes were still usable) in place of a non-original 3-pin XLR.
